1Rinse the long-grain rice in a colander under cold water.long-grain rice: 1 c

2Add the olive oil to a medium-sized pot on medium high heat. When the oil is hot, add the finely diced onion and minced garlic . Sauté for ⏱️ 4 minutes , stirring constantly.olive oil: 4 tbsp, onion: 1, garlic: 3 cloves

3While that is cooking, boil 2 cups of water (or heat up a tea kettle).water: 2 c

4Add the rinsed rice to the pot and stir for ⏱️ 2 minutes .

5Now add the boiling water and salt . Reduce heat to simmer and cook the rice, covered, for ⏱️ 20 minutes .salt: 1/4 tsp

6Turn off the heat and remove the pot's lid. Let the rice sit for ⏱️ 5 minutes then fluff with a fork .
